Why use catScan
Never stored
The file passes through our server only to be converted: it is processed in memory, never stored or logged, and deleted as soon as you get the result.
Free to start

Nothing to install
It works in any modern browser on computer, tablet or phone. To scan paper with your camera, use the Android app.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
A scanned PDF only contains images. Run OCR PDF first so it has text, and then convert it to Word.

We keep paragraphs, tables and images editable. Very complex designs may need some adjustment in Word.
Are my files stored?
No. The file passes through our server only to be converted: it is processed in memory, it is not stored or logged, and it is deleted as soon as you receive the result.
Is it free?

Does it work on my phone?
Yes. It works in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac or Linux, with nothing to install. The catScan Android app also lets you scan documents with the camera.
