Need a page of a PDF as a picture to post it, send it in a chat or paste it into a presentation? Turn each page into an image in a few seconds, at the resolution you need.

How to convert a PDF to images

  1. Open the PDF.

  2. Choose normal (150 dpi) or high quality (300 dpi).

  3. Convert it and download the images, in a ZIP if there are several pages.

When it helps

  • You want to share a page on social media or in a chat that doesn't show PDFs well.

  • You need to insert a PDF page into a presentation or a document as an image.

  • You want a preview or a thumbnail of a document.

Why use catScan

  • Private by design

This tool works inside your browser: the file is processed on your device and is never uploaded or stored.

  • Free to start

Sign in with Google and get 8 free uses per period, shared with the catScan app. 1 use = 1 downloaded file; if something fails, it doesn't count.

  • Nothing to install

It works in any modern browser on computer, tablet or phone. To scan paper with your camera, use the Android app.

Frequently asked questions

Which image format do I get?

JPG, the most compatible format and the lightest for sharing. If you need lossless images with very sharp text, use PDF to PNG.

Can I convert just one page?

Every page is converted to its own image. If you only want one, first extract it with Extract pages from PDF, or keep only the image you need from the ZIP.

What resolution should I pick?

150 dpi is enough for screens and chats. Choose 300 dpi to print or to zoom in on small details.

Are my files stored?

No. This tool processes the file on your device, inside the browser: it is not uploaded to any server and nothing is stored.
